Advocate Training Begins May 16th

April 21, 2022

YWCA Missoula is looking for compassionate and dedicated volunteers to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Being an advocate is an immersive and rewarding volunteer experience, where you will work directly with people in crisis and have the chance to really make a difference. You’ll wear many different hats as an advocate: you’ll answer the 24/7 crisis line, support survivors at our walk-in counseling center, and assist with therapeutic play activities for kids at the domestic violence shelter. Most of all, you will believe survivors, listen to their experiences, and empower them to re-build the lives they choose.

Volunteer advocate training includes 6 live training sessions (can either be attended in person or via Zoom), plus some supplemental trainings.

Training dates:
Monday, May 16th : 5-9pm
Wednesday, May 18th : 5-9pm
Thursday, May 19th : 5-9pm
Monday, May 23rd : 5-9pm
Wednesday, May 25th : 5-9pm
Thursday, May 26th : 5-9pm
