Join Us in Making a Difference: Volunteer Advocate Training at YWCA Missoula

January 8, 2024

YWCA Missoula is calling for compassionate and dedicated individuals to step up and make a difference in the lives of domestic and sexual violence survivors. Becoming a volunteer advocate is not just a role; it’s a chance to immerse yourself in a rewarding experience where your actions can directly impact the lives of survivors in our community.

As an advocate, you will have the opportunity to work directly with people in crisis, providing vital support and empowerment. There are various ways you can contribute, from answering the 24/7 crisis line to supporting survivors at our walk-in counseling center. Additionally, you can assist with therapeutic play activities for children at the domestic violence shelter, helping create a safe and healing environment.

The upcoming advocate training sessions at YWCA Missoula will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed for this important role. The training dates are as follows:

Monday, February 26th, 5-9 PM
Wednesday, February 28th, 5-9 PM
Thursday, February 29th, 5-9 PM
Monday, March 4th, 5-9 PM

Thursday, March 7th, 5-9 PM
Monday, March 11th, 5-9 PM
Wednesday, March 13th, 5-9 PM

By participating in this training, you’ll gain the necessary tools to support survivors on their journey to rebuilding their lives. If you’re interested in becoming an advocate at our domestic violence shelter or crisis line, take the first step by completing our volunteer interest form.
